The value of becoming a Hamel Honors & Scholars College student. Learn more about our scholarships and awards below.
The Hamel Scholarship
The Hamel Scholarship provides merit scholarships and special recognition to exceptional students from New Hampshire who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and community service. Funded through gifts from long-time UNH supporter, Dana Hamel, the program helps students become active, engaged leaders throughout the state after graduating.
UNH Merit Scholarships
Students who are admitted into the Hamel Honors and Scholars College usually receive merit scholarships from UNH. Honors admission does not in itself carry a scholarship, but the admission criteria into Honors match those for several merit scholarships awarded by UNH. More information about UNH's merit scholarships can be found on the Admissions website.
Annual Honors Scholarships
The Honors College awards between 40 and 60 scholarships annually to continuing students. Once Honors College students reach the Sophomore year, they are invited to apply each spring for one of these scholarships. Selection for Honors College scholarships is based on academic achievement, contributions to UNH and the Honors College, financial need, and/or other factors specified by each award.
