Thank you for your interest in supporting the McNair Scholars Program at the University of New Hampshire, a federally funded initiative. The unit supports approximately 70 research fellows, first-year students, and learners preparing for graduate study, all of whom come from backgrounds underrepresented in graduate education.
The McNair mission is to successfully prepare learners to earn the highest academic degree and to encourage students to consider the professoriate. Participants are afforded academic and social support services in the form of research traineeships and fellowships as part of the programs effort to increase the number of individuals from underrepresented groups who are interested in pursuing and obtaining doctoral degrees and careers in academia.
Contributions to the McNair Scholars Program will enable the expansion of the department’s services, to include greater opportunities for scholarly student presentations, research abroad programming, and graduate school fellowships.
